Happy

This weekend I participated in the Frosted Designs' blog hop. This blog hop added a layout challenge! Whoo Hoo! The challenge is to use the following sketch and at least three items or techniques on the list.

 First, here's my layout:

From the list, I included Misting, Layering, Distressing, Inks, Die Cuts, Cardboard, Pattern Paper, and Dylusions Spray Ink.

I also included 5 brads for the Scrap Our Stash "All About Our Guys" challenge.

I added Queen & Company trending tape for the Love My Tapes "Masculine Layouts" with tape challenge.

To distress the papers, I used my Making Memories paper edge scraper. It is my favorite tool now! You just put the paper in the scraper slit and distress it to the level you want! You can put little nicks in the edge of the paper and it roughens it up just right, especially on boy pages! I also distressed the black arrow brads by sanding off some of the paint.

I misted the background page with Studio Calico Mr. Huey spray ink in Warm Calico and Dylusions white. On the brown layer, I only used the Warm Calico, and on the small hexagon I just inked the edges. Each of the cardboard stars and the torn cardboard is misted with the Dylusions white.

If you haven't completed this blog hop, you still have time! It runs until June 7th. It was a lot of fun to get a little messy with my boy layout and just see how many things I did on the list. I completed the layout without looking at the list, and just checked the things off afterwards! It is very easy to use at least three of the things on the list. I ended up doing 8!
