Q Fan

My favorite embellishment brand has to be Queen & Co! I took some pics of my latest supplies after the Creating Keepsakes Convention and created this layout for the Paper Secrets sketch challenge.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my layout:

Of course, most of the embellishments are Queen & Co! My Q die cut is Hot Off the Press and the frame is from Close to my Heart.

An Ordinary Day-Color Me Scrappy July Challenge

On Color Me Scrappy, we have a second challenge for the month of July! This challenge calls for muted primary colors with a twist: use some wood-grain!

Here's the color scheme:

Here's my design team layout as an example for this color challenge:

I used all Basic Gray for the pattern paper, chipboard letters, and flowers. The flair brads are from October Afternoon's 9 to 5 line.

Here are some close-ups:

Thanks for stopping by and seeing my "Ordinary Day" captured. Please be sure and link up your layout using this color scheme and wood-grain on Color Me Scrappy!

Happy Papers

My favorite papers right now are American Craft's Amy Tangerine line. The two layouts I created on Saturday night use papers that were included in my CK kit Surprise Supplies. I decided to use a Paper Bakery sketch for one layout, and made my own design for the other one.

Here is my layout using the Paper Bakery sketch:

and the sketch:

My other layout was inspired by a challenge on Paper Issues to create a project with a food theme.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you find these papers as happy as I do!

Berry Sweet Sketch Challenge

For July, Paper Secrets has a great sketch challenge while using textured paper. In this case, I used dot embossed white cardstock as my base.

Here is this month's sketch:

I chose to use pictures of my good friend Sarah, who is also my manicurist!
I elected to use patterned paper from Recollections that is very similar to Amy Tan's style.
