Turn Your Dreams Into Reality

I got my title die cut from a Scrapbooking from the Inside Out kit. I was waiting to use it. When I first got it, my career path was unknown. My job was ending, and I didn't know where my next step would take me. Yet, I was still hopeful. I was going to use it to create an optimistic layout about the unknown future. I knew there was a reason that I held out on creating it. My optimism led to fruition! This  layout is about the outcome instead!

It is inspired by a sketch found on Paper Secrets.

Here is my layout:
my supply list: pp: Cosmo Cricket, glitz. ink: SEI. gcd: transparency, die cut, clip, brads. buttons: jillibean soup. dots: mme. stars: BG. rubons: Creative Imaginations.

When Pigs Fly--Multitasker!

I love it when JJ wants to try something new. We've had this game for a while, but I made it more visible when I put some of our games out on a shelf. JJ noticed it, and here we go! When Pigs Fly is a game where the object is to hit pigs with velcro on them up to a "sky" and make them stick! It's a lot of fun. Of course, he played the game while eating and watching a video on his Kindle! Scrap Our Stash has a challenge for August to use a game board or piece on the layout and use their sketch. These pics were perfect for this challenge!

Vegas Garden -Challenge 44

Challenge #44 of Color Me Scrappy involves using the following color scheme and fabric on the layout.

Color scheme:

I chose to use fabric frames, stickers, and burlap on my layout:

I love how this paper came pre-stitched since I don't use a sewing machine! Be sure to stop by the blog by the end of August with your layout!

Saturday Summer Movie Memories

Throughout the year, AMC has Sensory Friendly Showings once a month. During the summer, we get two showings. This summer has been great for JJ. We've gone to Monsters University, Despicable Me 2, and Smurfs 2. At the end of the month, we'll be seeing Planes. These movies had the best props for photo ops! Here's how I put my  layout together: I used a sketch from Paper Secrets, movie themed die cuts, and added some texture with embossing.

The sketch:

my layout;

supply list: cardstock: Studio Calico, patterned paper: American Crafts, Basic Gray. chipboard arrow: Plain Jane. ink: SEI, jenni bowlin. embossing: Cuttlebug. stickers: Basic Gray, mambi, simple stories. stars: Studio Calico. die cuts: Elle's Studio, Basic Gray, American Crafts. ribbon: Joann's. staples: mm. Adhesive: 3M, Therma web.

Embossing close ups:

On the arrow, I flipped it over and used the debossed side for subtle texture. You can also see the blue ink I added to the terracotta colored stars.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing our favorite summer films!

Relaxed

It's August 1st! Time for a new challenge at Color Me Scrappy! You have until the end of the month to complete a layout using this color scheme and sketch. I had a lot of fun, and I know you will, too!

Here's my layout called "Relaxed:"

I used my Epiphany Crafts tool to make this kite out of small hexagon acrylic tiles! I added some bling to the thought bubbles on the Simple Stories patterned paper. The other papers are Studio Calico and Basic Gray. The large green hexagons are by Studio Calico. I cut out one of the hexagons to use as a pattern. All hexagons are inked and raised on pop-up dots.

Thanks for looking! I hope my layout inspires you to create a layout about yourself and to try something new.
