Baseball is Life

This is Fall Ball time! I will be doing lots of layouts of JJ at Miracle League Baseball. This is his 4th season since he plays both Spring and Fall ball! We look forward to this Saturday ritual, and JJ has formed some wonderful friendships with his teammates and coaches.

For this layout, I used a Studio Calico sketch for my inspiration:

Days Just Sliding By

To celebrate my Columbus Day off (which I have never had before), I decided to scrapbook, of course! I found a great sketch over on Basic Grey's blog. The most difficult part was finding all my Basic Grey patterned paper and embellishments. I knew I had some, but I don't normally organize by brand. I put together items from their Simplicity, Lime Rickey, and Clippings lines to make this layout.

 I think it's amazing how the different lines still come together! Everything on the page is Basic Grey. The punch is EK Success, and inking was completed with ColorSnap.

Sunbursts

The sunburst pattern is so popular now. You can buy patterned paper with rays of sun, stickers, rub-ons, or get creative and make one! I have a Studio Calico sunburst mask that I just love! Here are two layouts I made using the mask. On one, I used it as a mask for spray ink that I smeared to make rays. On the other layout, I used it as a template to cut patterned paper into rays. I hope they give you some inspiration to create your own!

My Ombre

Ombre is a very popular technique right now. It's a soft merge of colors going from light to dark or soft to bright. It can be all one color range or different colors. You can find examples all over Pinterest.

On this layout, I used chalks with my feather shaped mask. By using chalk, the colors just blend together where they start and stop. I really love this effect!

Windows to the Soul

Scrapbooking from the Inside Out challenged its readers and members to scrapbook a page about your favorite alone time. Of course, my favorite escape is scrapbooking in my room! I had these old Piggy Tales windows and matching covers. They were perfect for this challenge.

This weekend was a sketchy weekend! I did layouts using these two sketches. They are courtesy of Scrapbook Olympics on Club CK and Studio Calico.

 This one from Studio Calico is turned on its side for my layout since my central photo is vertical.

My favorite was "Summer Art". Since it's an art theme, I used two different spray inks--Mr Huey green and a brown--to be arty.

From the Inside Out

Putting yourself into the scrapbooks can be very difficult sometimes. One thing I like about Scrapbooking from the Inside Out is that the prompts create unique pages about our thoughts and feelings. It can help create really insightful journaling or it can be light and funny. Here are pages that I created for the Communications kit.
